Open Access•Karly Cini, Karly I Cini et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

    Neal Spencer, J Ludvigsson et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Epidemiology and…•2022•Cited by: 1•References: 31

BACKGROUND: We examined absolute and relative relationships between household income and maternal education during early childhood (<5 years) with activity-limiting chronic health conditions (ALCHC) during later childhood in six longitudinal, prospective cohorts from high-income countries (UK, Australia, Canada, Sweden, Netherlands, USA). • Promoting proactive bystander responses to racism and racial discrimination in primary schools

Open Access•Naomi Priest, Oishee Alam et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2021

This study provides quantitative evidence of the potential of the SOAR program to improve the prosocial skills of students and their perceptions of the inter-racial school climate provided by their teachers. Further refinement and testing of the program in a large scale implementation trial is recommended

    Open Access•Peter Azzopardi, Peter S Azzopardi et al.•ARTICLE•The Lancet•2019

BACKGROUND: Rapid demographic, epidemiological, and nutritional transitons have brought a pressing need to track progress in adolescent health. Here, we present country-level estimates of 12 headline indicators from the Lancet Commission on adolescent health and wellbeing, from 1990 to 2016. METHODS: Indicators included those of health outcomes (disability-adjusted life-years [DALYs] due to communicable, maternal, and nutritional diseases; injuri…

  • Adolescence and the next generation

Open Access•George C Patton, George Patton et al.•ARTICLE•Nature•2018

Adolescent growth and social development shape the early development of offspring from preconception through to the post-partum period through distinct processes in males and females. At a time of great change in the forces shaping adolescence, including the timing of parenthood, investments in today’s adolescents, the largest cohort in human history, will yield great dividends for future generations.
