  • A Multivariate Generalizability Model for Clinical Skills Assessments

Open Access•David Jarjoura, Larry Early et al.•ARTICLE•Educational and Psychological…•2004

Assessments of clinical skills of medical students rely increasingly on standardized patients demonstrating medical cases with faculty rating performance. The common finding of inconsistency of scores across cases is often referred to as case specificity. A multivariate generalizability model reveals that overall case specificity cannot explain inconsistency in this example. Results from the multivariate model suggest directions for enhancing the…

  • Reliability and Construct Validity of Scores on the Behavioral Competence Inventory

    Open Access•David Jarjoura, Paula E Hartman-Stein et al.•ARTICLE•Educational and Psychological…•1999

The present study examined the reliability and construct validity in an older adult population of scores on the Behavioral Competence Inventory (BCI), a seven-scale informant measure of adaptive functioning. Study participants included 149 older adults and their informants who participated in a neuropsychological assessment. Results indicated that scores on the seven scales showed adequate internal consistencies and represented seven overlapping …

  • Modeling heart disease mortality with census tract rates and social class mixtures

    Open Access•Everett E Logue, Everett Logue et al.•ARTICLE•Social Science & Medicine•1990•Cited by: 4•References: 29

  • Curriculum Design Through Operations Research

    Open Access•Ellis B Page, David Jarjoura et al.•ARTICLE•American Educational Research…•1976•References: 6

Operations Research techniques have been applied to a variety of educational problems, but rarely, if ever, to the most central decision of the school: what to teach, at what level to teach it, and what to leave out. The necessary formal tools appear now available: The required values may be calculated by the use of the “token strategy” or other judgmental technique. The required time costs may be independently estimated from analysis of material…
