Evaluating Obsidian Distribution Systems in Pre-Hispanic Puebla-Tlaxcala
This study analyzes data from multiple excavation projects to investigate the procurement and production strategies of obsidian blades in Mexico’s Puebla-Tlaxcala Valley, focusing on the socioeconomic interactions among various groups from the Middle Formative period (900–500 b.c .) to the Late Postclassic period ( a.d. 1250–1519). Preclassic Household Patterns Preserved under Volcanic Ash at Tetimpa, Puebla, Mexico
Located on the northeastern flank of the Popocatépetl volcano in the state of Puebla, Mexico, the Tetimpa region was buried under volcanic ash from two major eruptions: the first, at the beginning of the present era and the second, between A.D. 700 and 850.
