  • Does Urban Regeneration Lead to Gentrification? An Empirical Analysis Based on Big Data

Open Access•Chaowei Xiao, Wangyu Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Population Space and Place•2025•References: 14

Amid rapid urban transformation across the Global South, gentrification is widely understood as a product of large‐scale urban regeneration jointly driven by state and market forces. This study employs a big data‐integrated approach to empirically confirm that urban regeneration in Beijing significantly contributes to gentrification, yet the impacts vary notably across different implementing entities. Projects implemented by governments and local…

  • Additive interaction between potentially modifiable risk factors and ethnicity among individuals in the Han, Tujia and Miao populations with first-ever ischaemic stroke

    Open Access•Na Zhang, Xin-Rui Wu et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2021

This is the first case-control study examining modifiable risk factors for ischaemic stroke among the Han population and two ethnic minorities (Tujia and Miao) in China. Some differences were observed in the impact of risk factors among these ethnic groups. Our results may help interpret health-related data, including surveillance and research, when developing strategies for stroke prevention

  • Health-Related Quality of Life and Its Determinants among Criminal Police Officers

Open Access•Xin-Rui Wu, Xinrui Wu et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2019

Criminal police officers are viewed as having a very tiring and stressful job, one that is closely correlated with work disability and other factors that might impair quality of life. Few studies have addressed the issue of health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in this population. Thus, this study aimed to assess the HRQoL of criminal police officers compared with the general adult population and identify determinants associated with HRQoL. Base…
