Growth rates of children of subsaharan African ancestry born to immigrant parents and of French children in Paris
This comparative survey is based on two populations of children born and raised in Paris or the Paris area: 320 French children and 129 children whose parents are both of African ancestry from the Subsaharan area. They are part of a first generation born outside of their respective countries. A longitudinal study of growth from birth to four years of age shows population differences. The length and weight at birth of full-term African babies are …
Nutritional Transition and Growth of BMI in Children Born in Parisian Area
The comparative study of the growth of children from very different geographical origins, born in France, shows that different habits of nutritional pattern involve significant differences of Body Mass Index, and pathological risks among some populations. The Maghrebian children intake more saturated fat when their socio-economic status increase, and they present often evident overweight at each age, with diabetic risks. At the time of the introd…
Growth of Vietnamese Children Born in France
A survey made in the centres of “Protection Maternelle et Infantile” in France has given successive anthropometric measurements, from the birth to 60 months, of 400 Vietnamese infants born and living in France. At six months, the body mass index (W/H2) becomes lower for the Vietnamese infants than that for the French children, with a more balanced feeding

The Growth of 400 Chinese Children Born in Paris
A survey made in the centres of "Protection Maternelle et Infantile" in Paris has given successive anthropometric measurements, from the birth to 66 months, of 400 Chinese children who live in France. Body measurements of Chinese children born in Paris are slightly above those of Chinese children born in China. This is likely due to the improvements of living conditions, feeding and exogamy. There is a slight difference between the body measureme…
