Temporal trend and epidemiological profile of exogenous poisonings in Brazil
Poisonings are a global public health problem. With the aim of describing their epidemiological profile in Brazil, an ecological time series study was conducted from 2007 to 2019, characterizing individual demographic variables (sex; age), exposure variables (circumstance; toxic agents), health indicators (incidence; mortality; fatality), and temporal trends. Data concerning notifications were extracted from the Notifiable Diseases Information Sy…

RT-PCR-positive patients were selected to compose the sample (n = 1,034). At the end of the study, 362 (32%) patients died. In this coh…
The correspondence between the structure of the terrestrial mobility network and the spreading of Covid-19 in Brazil
The inter-cities mobility network is of great importance in understanding outbreaks, especially in Brazil, a continental-dimension country. We adopt the data from the Brazilian Ministry of Health and the terrestrial flow of people between cities from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics database in two scales: cities from Brazil, without the North region, and from the São Paulo State. Grounded on the complex networks approach, and …
Factors associated with time free of oral candidiasis in children living with HIV/Aids, São Paulo, Brazil
In clinical practice, recurrence of thrush is common in children living with HIV/AIDS. The aim of this study was to determine the factors associated with time spent free of oral candidiasis using survival analysis for recurrent events. A retrospective cohort study was carried out with 287 children treated between 1985 and 2009 at a reference center in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. The Prentice, Williams and Peterson model for recurrent events wa…
