Telehealth-Readiness, Healthcare Access, and Cardiovascular Health in the Deep South
The findings affirm the relevance of the Andersen model for understanding rural health disparities and highlight the importance of investing in both digital infrastructure and healthcare capacity. Expanding telehealth without addressing provider shortages and social determinants may be insufficient. Local policy innovations and community resilience mechanisms may offer scalable models for improving cardiovascular health in disadvantaged areas

Agricultural soil erosion by both water and wind is a local scale problem in the UK, particularly on the sandy and sandy loam soils under continuous cereal production or market gardening in the midland and eastern counties of England. Mean annual rates of soil erosion by water on these soils in fields on hillslopes up to 11? can exceed 2 kg/m2 when rilling occurs, compared with a rate for top soil renewal of only about 0.1 kg/m2. A morphometric analysis of dry valley systems in 54 third-order basins on the English Chalklands reveals that many first-order segments are too short to have effectively drained their catchment areas.
