Public Perceptions of Police in Fiji
Members of the public may have positive, negative, or mixed perceptions of police. Previous research has demonstrated that public perceptions are shaped by their experiences and interactions with police and can influence trust, perceived legitimacy, and future cooperation. Limited research has examined public perceptions of police in small island developing states. This article explores public perceptions of police in Fiji, an island state in the…
E–talanoa as an Online Research Method
Talanoa (Moana-centred orality) is a widely used Indigenous Pacific discursive approach within research contexts across the diaspora. In a globalised and technologically enhanced era, the online space continues to shape Moana (Oceania) peoples’ talanoa engagement and communication. e–talanoa in this article is an extension of talanoa research engagement and practice. We unpack the contexts in which e–talanoa is negotiated and made sense, and empl…

Urbanisation, local food crop production and tourism output of Pakistan

The main aim of this paper is to examine the relationship between urbanisation, local food crop production and the tourism output of Pakistan. The findings show that a 1 per cent increase in local food crop production will increase tourism output by 1.77 per cent, at the 1 per cent level of significance, holding all other variables cons…
Social networks, cultural orientations and e-government adoption behavior
Research demonstrates that social networks have an intrinsic relationship with culture. However, very limited research – theoretical or empirical – has examined how social networks, along with cultural orientations, influence e-government adoption. In this paper we seek to address the gap. Based on social network theory, as well as the culture models of Hofstede (2001) and House et al. (2004), we develop a research model to study the relationship…
Exploring the nexus between urbanisation, inflation and tourism output
