  • The Nitrate Cellulose Negatives

Open Access•А Povolotckaia, Svetlana Kaputkina et al.•ARTICLE•Heritage•2024•Cited by: 1•References: 5

Photographic artifacts carry important historical and cultural information. Materials used in photography at the turn of the XIXth and XXth centuries tend to degrade both over time and if the temperature and humidity conditions of storage are violated. In this connection, the question arises of determining the safety degree and monitoring the condition of photographic materials. Close attention should be paid to photographic materials that become…

  • The golden Mizunotype—A study of a rare example of Japanese photographic art from the late XIXth century

Open Access•А Povolotckaia, A Aseeva et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Cultural Heritage•2024

  • Investigation of cellulose nitrate film-based photographic materials (1902–1917) using a portable Raman spectrometer and chemometric methods

  • Investigation towards Laser Cleaning of Corrosion Products from Lead Objects

    Open Access•Denis Prokuratov, A A Samokhvalov et al.•ARTICLE•Heritage•2023•References: 1

In this work lasers with micro-, nano-, pico- and femtosecond pulse durations were used to clean atmospheric corrosion products from the fragments of a 19th-century lead outdoor sculpture. The state of the surface was studied by optical microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. It was shown that for all lasers used there is no self-limiting cleaning effect, and the metal damage threshold is…
