  • The hydrologic landscape of the Ajó coastal plain, Argentina

Open Access•Eleonora Carol, Federica Braga et al.•ARTICLE•Anthropocene•2017•Cited by: 2•References: 43

  • Sequence stratigraphic significance of tidal channel systems in a shallow lagoon (Venice, Italy)

    Open Access•Massimo Zecchin, Luigi Tosi et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2014•Cited by: 1•References: 2

The Holocene succession located in the central part of the Venice Lagoon has been investigated by means of high-resolution seismic and core data, which document a full back-barrier depositional environment developed during the last 6 kyr. The studied succession, 4.5–23 m thick, consists of three seismic units bounded at the base by stratal surfaces marked by deep tidal channel incisions, recording main changes in the lagoon hydrodynamics as well …

  • Mapping past and recent landscape modifications in the Lagoon of Venice through geophysical surveys and historical maps

Open Access•F Madricardo, Sandra Donnici et al.•ARTICLE•Anthropocene•2014•Cited by: 2•References: 42

  • The caranto paleosol and its role in the early urbanization of Venice

    Open Access•Sandra Donnici, Rossana Serandrei‐Barbero et al.•ARTICLE•Geoarchaeology•2011•Cited by: 3•References: 6

As rising sea level threatens Venice, there is a need to construct a historical framework for interpreting modern environmental changes. Environmental conditions that would later help support Venice's urbanization were established during the Late Glacial period when calcic soils began to develop in the Venetian alluvial paleoplain. A calcic paleosol, buried by Middle to Late Holocene marine transgressive deposits, represents a subsurface layer lo…

  • The changing landscape of Constanciacus

Open Access•Daniela Cottica, Davide Busato et al.•ARTICLE•ArchéoSciences•2009

« Costanziaco Project » is an interdisciplinary, multi-period archaeological project focused on the study of an ancient settlement in the Northern Lagoon of Venice, known in Medieval and later documentary sources as Costanciacus (Cottica et al., 2008). The project has been promoted by the Department of Antiquity and the Near East of the University of Venice and by the Superintendence for the Archaeological Heritage in the Veneto region. In Antiqu…

  • Reply to the comment by C. Ravazzi on ‘‘Paleoclimatic record of the past 22,000yr in Venice (Northern Italy)

Open Access•Remo Bertoldi, Giuseppe Canali et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2007

  • Paleoclimatic record of the past 22,000 years in Venice (Northern Italy)

    Open Access•Rossana Serandrei-Barbero, Remo Bertoldi et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2005

  • Informational elements for monitoring land elevation at the historical building sites of an urban area in assessing a change in their reuse

Open Access•Luigi Alberotanza, Enrico Conchetto et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Cultural Heritage•2002
