  • Double-threshold validation tool (DTVT)

Open Access•Nicola Nocentini, Samuele Segoni et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Disaster…•2025

Landslide early warning systems help prevent loss of life and economic damage by providing timely warnings. Typically based on rainfall thresholds, these systems often lack reliability as they incorporate only rainfall as input data. Machine learning offers a solution by incorporating multiple geoenvironmental and climatic factors, and recent advancements have enabled the inclusion of both spatial and temporal dimensions, producing accurate pixel…

  • Relative seismic and tsunami risk assessment for Stromboli Island (Italy)

Open Access•Agnese Turchi, Federico Di Traglia et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Disaster…•2022

An innovative method of estimating the relative risk of buildings exposed to seismic and tsunami hazards in volcanic islands is applied to Stromboli (Italy), a well-known stratovolcano affected by moderate earthquakes and mass-flow-induced tsunamis. The method uses a pre-existing quali-quantitative analysis to assess the relative risk indices of buildings, which provide comparative results useful for prioritisation purposes, in combination with a…

  • Geomorphology of the Rotolon landslide (Veneto Region, Italy)

Open Access•William Frodella, Stefano Morelli et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Maps•2014

In this paper a geomorphological map of the Rotolon landslide is presented. This cartographic product was obtained using a combination of accurate field surveys together with airborne Lidar analysis, aerial photo interpretation and thermographic field surveys within a GIS. The map was prepared in order to analyze the morphological features of the landslide and therefore improve interpretation of the GB-InSAR data. This monitoring device was insta…

  • Integrating radar and laser-based remote sensing techniques for monitoring structural deformation of archaeological monuments

Open Access•Deodato Tapete, Nicola Casagli et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Archaeological Science•2012•Cited by: 9•References: 3

Ground-Based Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (GBInSAR) and Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) were purposely integrated to obtain 3D interferometric radar point clouds to facilitate the spatial interpretation of displacements affecting archaeological monuments. The paper describes the procedure to implement this integrated approach in the real-world situations of surveillance of archaeological and built heritage. Targeted tests were carried…

  • Rock weathering and failure of the “Tomba della Sirena” in the Etruscan necropolis of Sovana (Italy)

Open Access•Paolo Canuti, Nicola Casagli et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Cultural Heritage•2004

  • Hydrogeological hazard and risk in archaeological sites

Open Access•Paolo Canuti, Nicola Casagli et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Cultural Heritage•2000•Cited by: 4
