  • Chaihu Shugan San exerts antidepressant effects in female mice by suppressing hippocampal IL-6 and activating the cAMP-CaMKII-BDNF pathway

Open Access•Xiangfei Liu, Banxin Luo et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2026

  • Observational and genetic evidence disagree on the association between loneliness and risk of multiple diseases

Open Access•Yannis Yan Liang, Mingqing Zhou et al.•ARTICLE•Nature Human Behaviour•2024•Cited by: 2•References: 53

Loneliness-the subjective experience of social disconnection-is now widely regarded as a health risk factor. However, whether the associations between loneliness and multiple diseases are consistent with causal effects remains largely unexplored. Here we combined behavioural, genetic and hospitalization data from the UK Biobank to examine the associations of loneliness with a wide range of non-overlapping diseases. During a median 12.2-year follo…

  • Association Between Behavioral Dysexecutive Syndrome and the Health-Related Quality of Life Among Stroke Survivors

Open Access•Yannis Yan Liang, Lisha Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2020

The present study preliminarily demonstrated a potential association between BDES and a lower level of the HRQoL, predominantly in domains of personality, language, and work/productivityafter acute ischemic stroke. This study also offered insights into the underlying mechanisms linking BDES and the HRQoL, implicating that integrative psychological therapies were urged to achieve better HRQoL after stroke
