PPARG-Lyplal1 Multi-Allelic Combination Associated with Obesity and Overweight in Mexican Adolescent Females
Our data suggest the joint participation of PPARG - LYPLAL1 genes in metabolic disorders development. Hence, these genes could act as potential biomarkers in obesity and overweight. Our findings underscore the complexity of metabolic disorders and provide evidence about the importance of multi-loci analysis to study complex diseases
Dietary consumption of phytochemicals and breast cancer risk in Mexican women
Objective To perform an evaluation of selected phytochemicals intake and breast cancer (BC) risk in Mexican women. Design We conducted hospital-based case–control study. Setting Mexico City between 1994 and 1996. Subjects A total of 141 histologically confirmed BC cases were age-matched (±3 years) to an equal number of hospital controls.
Food consumption and adipose tissue DDT levels in Mexican women
This article analyzes food consumption in relation to levels of DDE (the principal metabolite of DDT) in the adipose tissue of 207 Mexican women residing in States with high and low exposure to DDT. Data on the women's dietary habits and childbearing history were obtained from a personal interview. Adipose tissue DDE levels were measured by gas-liquid chromatography and compared by analysis of variance (ANOVA) and multiple linear regression. Adip…
