Sexual behavior of clients with street prostitutes in Camden, NJ
This paper describes the sexual behaviors of 101 male clients with female street prostitutes. An earlier study (Freund, Leonard, & Lee, 1989) was limited to sexual behaviors of street prostitutes themselves. Interviews were given by 62% of the clients approached. The clients were mature men (mean = 39.8 years), long‐term residents of Camden, NJ (mean = 19.2 years), and currently or previously married (78/101). Racial composition was similar to th…

Semistructured interviews about sex behavior and attitudes were conducted with 50 male clients of female street prostitutes in Camden, New Jersey. Both duration (from three months to 20 years) and frequency (twice per year to 16 times per month) of prostitute contact were reported. Sexual behavior of resident street prostitutes with their clients in Camden, New Jersey
This paper describes a prospective study of the sexual behaviors of 20 resident street prostitutes and their clients. Prostitutes were long‐term residents of and practiced street prostitution in their community. They worked full‐time and reported averages of four clients per workday, four to five workdays per week, in an eight‐year career. Sexual behaviors with clients on five to eight workdays were recorded over a seven‐month period. Forty‐nine …

Although the flow of refugees to this country has declined over the past few years, a significant number of refugees continue to arrive. Since 1981, the state of Georgia has resettled an average of 1450 new arrivals yearly, bringing the total refugee population to over 10,000.
