Intae Yoon, Younghee Cho•ARTICLE•Journal of Human Behavior in the…•2026•References: 11

This study examines the growing phenomenon of reverse immigration among older Korean Americans returning from the United States to Korea, applying Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and the AARP Livability Index as analytical frameworks. Semi-structured interviews with 30 participants, including 1 Korean German, revealed that migration decisions were shaped by multiple, overlapping motivations pursued simultaneously, rather than sequentially. • Older Lesbians

Paige Averett, Intae Yoon et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Women & Aging•2011

Older lesbians are, at minimum, a triple threat of marginalization due to ageism, heterosexism, and sexism. A national survey specific to this often-invisible population has not occurred in over 25 years. The present study was completed to reveal the needs, strengths, and experiences of the current cohort of older lesbians. Four hundred fifty-six older lesbians responded to an online survey on topics including sociodemographics, social activity, …

Intae Yoon•ARTICLE•Journal of Human Behavior in the…•2011•Cited by: 1•References: 24

A mixed-method case study was used to investigate why members of a community do not take collective action to protect their well-being from detrimental neighboring industrial businesses. A hierarchical regression analysis from a self-administered survey (n = 95) shows that low collective efficacy is the main factor contributing to the lack of collective action among the residents (Adjusted R2 = .155, df = 1, F = 15.355, p < .001). Data from an in…

As the current financial crisis disproportionately harms the financially vulnerable and poses a great threat to the well-being of the national and global economy, unprecedented societal dependence upon unsecured consumer credits exacerbates the crisis. The author describes this dependence, unveils structural deviance and economic injustice behind it, and recommends three public policy solutions to alleviate the current financial crisis and amelio…
