  • Effect of Fathers' Absence on Delinquent Boys

    Open Access•Patricia Moran, Allan G Barclay et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1988

40 male delinquents, comprising four matched groups with fathers present or absent, and Negro or white, were studied to estimate the effect these variables had on the development of covert and overt sex-role identification. In addition, a significant in teraction of race of subject and instrument indicated that while both White and Black s…

    Open Access•John Heil, Allan G Barclay et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1978

The Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence was administered to 372 children, one group being educationally deprived and the other normal, all being Caucasian. Factor analysis showed a three-factor structure: Verbal, Performance, and Picture Completion. There were no significant differences in factor structure of the two groups, suggesting similarity of factor structures. Apparently, the homogeneity of groups on cultural and demograp…

Group 1 (leukemia) parents were extremely negative in their attitudes toward “illness” but generally very favorable toward “hospital” and “doctor.” Group 2 (tonsillectomy) and Group 3 (plastic surgery) were relati…
