Ezinan’s Seven Children
This contribution contains the first edition of a Sumerian myth about the grain goddess Ezinan/Ašnan and her seven children or her seventh child. Its other protagonists are the deities Enki with his vizier Isimud, the sky god An, and the moon god Nanna. The composition is exclusively preserved on several more or less fragmentary tablets from Abū Ṣalābīḫ
Aufsätze/Articles. Die ersten amurritisch-akkadischen Bilinguen
The article offers some additional considerations and suggestions concerning the interpretation of the Amorite-Akkadian bilinguals published by A. George and M. Krebernik in RA 116 (2022) 133-166, including a comparison between the bilinguals and the „Rosen Vocabulary“ published by C. J. Crisostomo in ZA 106 (2016) 22-32
An = Anum and Related Lists
This volume is the first in a planned edition of the complete corpus of ancient Mesopotamian god lists. It contains the lists »An = Anum« (including its forerunners) and »An = Anu ša amēli« along with several similar, more-or-less fragmentary lists. The god list An = Anum was, with its ca. 2000 entries, the most comprehensive list of its kind. It is systematically organized and contains explanations both of individual deities and of certain group…
Two Remarkable Vocabularies
An Atypical Fāra Tablet in Geneva's Musée d'ART Et d'Histoire
The unprovenanced tablet MAH 16070 has the size and shape of many administrative documents and contracts from controlled excavations at Fāra, ancient Šuruppak. It contains low numbers (1 and 2) of various commodities (most made of metal, some obscure) alternating with well-documented personal names. The purpose of the text is not immediately apparent. It has no obvious parallel among previously published distribution and offering lists. Expressio…

The tablets from Abu Salabikh and their provenance
During the excavations at Abu Salabikh between 1975 and 1989 cuneiform tablets of Early Dynastic date were found in a variety of contexts. Those from 1975–76 were published in Biggs and Postgate 1978, and were added to the sequence of Inscriptions from Abu Salabikh as numbers 516–32. Here all the remaining pieces from later seasons are now published, extending the sequence from IAS 533 to 556. In the first part of the article the distribution of …

Darüberhinaus bietet der Text zahlreiche bislang nicht belegte Ausdrücke, Schreibungen und Gleichungen
