Bridging Gaps: Provider Perspectives on Integrating Systems for Health Equity
Health equity is shaped by multiple factors intersecting with service delivery in community-based organizations (CBOs). Providers in under-resourced areas are often the first point of contact for families seeking child development, mental health, and behavioral support. However, system-level barriers hinder service delivery and access. This study explores provider perspectives to identify barriers and inform system-level changes that promote equi…

Strategic change in public sector organizations has been well documented. This article suggests that public management research would benefit from a greater appreciation of how calculative practices are deeply imbricated with, and constitutive of, organizational life. In turn, the article argues that the field of interdisciplinary accounting has much to learn from public administration, especially in terms of leadership. The overarching argument …

Ethnicity and suicide in Hawaii
A multivariate model was built to investigate the effect of ethnicity on suicide in Hawaii. To provide the model with enough flexibility, both linear and nonlinear functions were employed. The three ethnic groups studied were Japanese, Caucasians, and Filipinos. The results show that Japanese have the highest tendency to commit suicide while the Filipinos have the lowest. However, the suicide rates of the three groups appear to be approaching a c…

ABO Blood Groups and Bronchopneumonia in Children
The association between ABO blood groups and certain diseases of the upper intestinal tract, peptic ulcer, gastric carinoma, and pernicious anaemia, is now well established, but this is not true for any of the other associations noted, except perhaps diabetes. The evidence has recently been summarized by Roberts (1957). Of the other associations that have been reported, the one which, if true, would be of most interest as a selective force acting…
Incidence of Mongolism and its Diagnosis in the Newborn
An accurate estimate of the incidence in the general population of mongolism at birth is required for the genetic study of the disease. Penrose (1949) has esti mated the frequency of the condition among children of school age in Great Britain from the records of local authorities; the incidence among children aged 10 to 14 is probably about 1 in 2,000. He stresses, however, that the high infant mortality of mongols implies that the incidence at b…
