We used data collected from 1976 to 2010 in Mahale, Tanzania, to explore longitudinal changes in red colobus hunting throughout the life histories of individual male chimpanzees. How results of field works of non-human primates contribute studies of biology in high schools under the new Courses of Study
2012年度から数学と理科で先行実施された新学習指導要領の高校の生物の内容は,それ以前の学習指導要領の内容から大きく変更された。その結果,基礎的な内容を扱う「生物基礎」においても,従来以上にヒト以外の霊長類の野外研究の研究成果を活かすことができる内容が含まれることになった。また発展的な内容を扱う「生物」においても,これまで同様,この成果を活かせる内容がある。そこで,ヒト以外の霊長類の野外研究が新課程の生物の学習においてどのような貢献ができるかを紹介した。具体的には,「生物基礎」の「生物の多様性と生態系」や「生物」の「生態と環境」といった単元において,キーストーン種としての霊長類の役割や霊長類をめぐる種間関係といった話題が活用できると考えられた。そしてこうした内容を高校の教育現場で活用するためには,高校教員と大学教員の協力によって作成される副読本が必要であることを指摘した
