    This paper looks at the diversity of musical styles performed during the festival of the Divine Holy Spirit in a small town in south‐eastern Brazil. The festival is the result of the concerted effort of the entire community, in which each sector of the population makes a contribution in both the material and symbolic domains. The Folias are made up of a group of musicians that roam from house to house during the Christmas season, as a form of devotion to the three Wise Men.
