Exploring Factors Influencing Green Purchase Intention in Emerging Markets
This study explores the factors that influence the intention to engage in green purchase behavior among Vietnamese consumers. The study integrates the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and Social Cognitive Theory (SCT), incorporating the impacts of environmental consciousness, subject norms, perceived marketplace influence, and health consciousness. The study examines these factors as antecedents that influence attitudes and perceived behavioral c…
Pathways to Green Purchase Intention in FMCG Industry
This study examines the impact of green marketing strategies on consumer green purchase intention in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry in an emerging market, investigating the mediating roles of green trust and green brand image. Using a mixed-method approach combining qualitative interviews with PLS-SEM and fsQCA analyses of 275 valid responses, the study reveals that perceived green marketing strategies positively influences green …
The association of coffee consumption with prediabetes, diabetes, and markers of glucose metabolism in rural Vietnam
The present study among rural residents in Vietnam did not find clear associations of coffee consumption with prediabetes, diabetes, or markers of glucose metabolism, including the effects of coffee with additives, underscoring the complexity of these associations and the need for further research to confirm the findings in rural Vietnam
Digital Capabilities and Sustainable Competitive Advantages
This study investigates the impact of digital capabilities on sustainable competitive advantages among manufacturing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam, an emerging market, through the lens of the dynamic capabilities view. The research examines the mediating role of digital absorptive capacity and the active role of digital leadership in this relationship. The research used both qualitative and quantitative research, in which a…
Parental absence during childhood and weight status in adulthood among middle‐aged community dwellers in rural Vietnam
Objectives While adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) have been shown to be associated with adulthood obesity, less is known about their association with underweight. We examined the associations between parental absence (i.e., a major component of ACEs) and both underweight and excess weight among middle‐aged rural community dwellers in Vietnam, where experiences of parental absence was not uncommon during and after the Vietnam War (1955–1975). …
Different associations of occupational and leisure-time physical activity with the prevalence of hypertension among middle-aged community dwellers in rural Khánh Hòa, Vietnam
In contrast to previous studies in high-income countries, we found that leisure-time PA was positively associated with hypertension prevalence and occupational PA was associated with a lower hypertension prevalence. This suggests that the association between PA and hypertension might differ depending on the context
Eating speed and abdominal adiposity in middle-aged adults
A faster eating speed was associated with a higher prevalence of abdominal obesity in a middle-aged population in rural Vietnam
Red meat consumption is associated with prediabetes and diabetes in rural Vietnam
Objective: To examine the association between red/processed meat consumption and glycaemic conditions (i.e. prediabetes (preDM) and diabetes mellitus (DM)) among middle-aged residents in rural Khánh Hòa, Vietnam. Design: In this cross-sectional study, a multinomial logistic regression model was used to examine the association between daily consumption of red/processed meat (0–99 g, 100–199 g or ≥ 200 g) and preDM/DM with adjustments for socio-dem…

Occupational exposure to respirable crystalline silica (RCS) is common in a range of industries, including mining, and has been associated with adverse health effects such as silicosis, lung cancer, and non-malignant respiratory diseases. This study used a large population database of 6,563 mine workers from Western Australia who were examined for personal exposure to RCS between 2001 and 2012. A standardized respiratory questionnaire was also ad…
Trends in Exposure to Diesel Particulate Matter and Prevalence of Respiratory Symptoms in Western Australian Miners
Diesel-powered equipment is used frequently in the mining industry. They are energetically more efficient and emit lower quantities of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide than the gasoline equipment. However, diesel engines release more diesel particulate matter (DPM) during the combustion process which has been linked to harmful health effects. This study assessed the trends in DPM exposure and the prevalence of respiratory symptoms among Western…
