  • Correlations Between Oxygen Consumption, Ventilatory Mechanics, and Lung Ultrasound in Individuals with Post-Covid Syndrome

Open Access•Jéssica Gabriela Messias Oliveira, Samantha Gomes de Alegria et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2025

Patients with PCS undergoing CPX demonstrated impaired functional capacity. In these individuals, higher age and BMI were associated with lower VO 2 peak. Furthermore, alterations in LUS and IOS may also be linked to reduced VO 2 peak. These findings are promising, as they were obtained using a low-cost device. Further studies are needed to investigate the factors that influence oxygen consumption in PCS

  • Racial Inequalities in the Health Establishment Access to the Treatment of Covid-19 in Brazil in 2020

Open Access•Lídia Santos Silva, Julio Silva et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Racial and Ethnic…•2025•Cited by: 5•References: 26

The Brazilian health system simultaneously allows for the existence of the public and private sectors, which often imposes financial barriers to access to services and affects the health of exposed groups. Studies have shown evidence of higher lethality risks among Black/Biracial and Indigenous People admitted to hospitals due to COVID-19 during the pandemic when compared to White People.

  • Were public interventions relevant for containing the covid-19 pandemic in Brazil in 2020

Open Access•Vitória Berg Cattani, Thaís Araujo dos Santos et al.•ARTICLE•Revista de Saúde Pública•2023

OBJECTIVE: Flattening the curve was the most promoted public health strategy worldwide, during the pandemic, to slow down the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and, consequently, to avoid overloading the healthcare systems. In Brazil, a relative success of public policies was evidenced. However, the association between public policies and the "flatten the curve" objectives remain unclear, as well as the association of different policies to reach th…

  • What Are We Measuring When We Evaluate Digital Interventions for Improving Lifestyle? A Scoping Meta-Review

Open Access•Rodolfo Castro, Marcelo Ribeiro-Alves et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2022

Background: Lifestyle Medicine (LM) aims to address six main behavioral domains: diet/nutrition, substance use (SU), physical activity (PA), social relationships, stress management, and sleep. Digital Health Interventions (DHIs) have been used to improve these domains. However, there is no consensus on how to measure lifestyle and its intermediate outcomes aside from measuring each behavior separately. We aimed to describe (1) the most frequent l…

  • Assessing logistic regression applied to respondent-driven sampling studies

Open Access•Sandro Sperandei, Leonardo Soares Bastos et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Social…•2022•Cited by: 2•References: 4

The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of different logistic regression estimators applied to RDS studies via simulation and the analysis of empirical data. Four simulated populations were created with different connectivity characteristics. Each simulated individual received two attributes, one of them associated to the infection process. RDS samples with different sizes were obtained. The observed coverage of three logistic regressi…

  • Social inequalities and the pandemic of Covid-19

    Open Access•Julio Silva, Marcelo Ribeiro-Alves•ARTICLE•Journal of Epidemiology and…•2021•Cited by: 3•References: 2

BACKGROUND: The novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) is a global pandemic. The lack of protective vaccine or treatment led most of the countries to follow the flattening of the infection curve with social isolation measures. There is evidence that socioeconomic inequalities have been shaping the COVID-19 burden among low and middle-income countries. This study described what sociodemographic and socioeconomic factors were associated with the greatest r…

Open Access•Rodolfo Castro, Raquel Brandini De Boni et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2020

  • Avaliação de tecnologias em saúde

Open Access•Carmen Phang Romero Casas, Julio Silva et al.•ARTICLE•Estudos Avançados•2020•Cited by: 3•References: 18
