  • Navigating Adversity

Open Access•Vanessa Calderon, Mirian L Vasquez et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Racial and Ethnic…•2026•Referências: 70

  • Predicting conversion to psychosis using machine learning

Open Access•Jason Smucny, Tyrone D Cannon et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2025

The results of this study suggest that a machine learning model trained to predict conversion to psychosis on one dataset can be used to train an independent dataset. Performance on the test set was not in the range necessary for clinical application, however. Possible reasons that limited performance are discussed

  • Neurobehavioral risk factors influence prevalence and severity of hazardous substance use in youth at genetic and clinical high risk for psychosis

Open Access•Chaya Amir, Carolyn M Amir et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2023

Individuals at genetic and CHR-P have strikingly different patterns of substance use. Factors such as increased neurodevelopmental symptoms (lower IQ, higher rates of ASD) and poorer social functioning in 22qDel may help explain this distinction from substance use patterns observed in CHR-P individuals

  • The impact of early factors on persistent negative symptoms in youth at clinical high risk for psychosis

Open Access•Daniel J Devoe, Lu Lui et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2023

In terms of better understanding relationships between early factors and PNS, a prominent factor associated with PNS was premorbid functioning, in particular poor premorbid functioning in later adolescence

  • Rare CNVs and phenome-wide profiling highlight brain structural divergence and phenotypical convergence

    Open Access•Jakub Kopal, Kuldeep Kumar et al.•ARTICLE•Nature Human Behaviour•2023•Citada por: 1•Referências: 72

  • Neurobehavioral Dimensions of Prader Willi Syndrome

    Open Access•Kathleen P O’Hora, Kathleen P O'Hora et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2022

PWS is associated with a high prevalence of distressing psychosis-risk symptoms, which are associated with sleep disturbance. Findings indicate that self/parent-reported neurobehavioral symptoms and cognition can be assessed remotely in individuals with PWS, which has implications for future large-scale investigations of rare neurogenetic disorders

  • Abnormally Large Baseline P300 Amplitude Is Associated With Conversion to Psychosis in Clinical High Risk Individuals With a History of Autism

    Open Access•Jennifer H Foss‐Feig, Jennifer H Foss-Feig et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2021

Psychosis rates in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are 5-35% higher than in the general population. The overlap in sensory and attentional processing abnormalities highlights the possibility of related neurobiological substrates. Previous research has shown that several electroencephalography (EEG)-derived event-related potential (ERP) components that are abnormal in schizophrenia, including P300, are also abnormal in individuals at Clinical High …

  • Extensions of Multiple-Group Item Response Theory Alignment

Open Access•Maxwell Mansolf, Annabel Vreeker et al.•ARTICLE•Educational and Psychological…•2020

Large-scale studies spanning diverse project sites, populations, languages, and measurements are increasingly important to relate psychological to biological variables. National and international consortia already are collecting and executing mega-analyses on aggregated data from individuals, with different measures on each person. In this research, we show that Asparouhov and Muthén's alignment method can be adapted to align data from disparate …

  • Evidence of Slow Neural Processing, Developmental Differences and Sensitivity to Cannabis Effects in a Sample at Clinical High Risk for Psychosis From the NAPLS Consortium Assessed With the Human Star…

Open Access•Kristin S Cadenhead, Erica Duncan et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2020

This is the first study to demonstrate a relationship of startle response latency to psychotic conversion in a CHR population. PPI is an important biomarker that may be sensitive to the neurodevelopmental abnormalities thought to be present in psychosis prone individuals and the effects of cannabis. The significant correlations with age in this sample as well as the finding of greater PPI in CHR cannabis users replicate findings from another larg…
