Behavioral Intention Formation in Knowledge Sharing
Individuals’ knowledge does not transform easily into organizational knowledge even with the implementation of knowledge repositories. Rather, individuals tend to hoard knowledge for various reasons. The aim of this study is to develop an integrative understanding of the factors supporting or inhibiting individuals’ knowledge-sharing intentions. We employ as our theoretical framework the theory of reasoned action (TRA), and augment it with extrin…
Channel Expansion Theory and the Experiential Nature of Media Richness Perceptions.
Experiences identified by channel expansion theory as contributing to media-use knowledge bases were hypothesized to be positively related to the perceived richness of a communications channel. We ...
Employee information processing behaviors before and after a corporate downsizing
The majority of research on organizational information processing has been based in stable organization contexts. This paper, however, examines information processing behaviors within a Fortune 500 organization that experienced a substantial downsizing, namely, a drastic reduction in both financial and human resources. Addressed in this predownsizing and postdownsizing context were the following research questions: To what extent does the fit bet…
Experiences with information technology planning in state government
Information Technology Implementation Research
Based on the innovation and technological diffusion literatures, promising research questions concerning the implementation of a production and inventory control information system (material requirements planning: MRP) are identified and empirically examined. These questions focus on the interaction of managerial tasks with the information technology and the resulting effect on the adoption and infusion of that technology. Using a random sample o…
Test-Retest Reliability and Internal Consistency of Short-Form of Coopersmith's Self-Esteem Inventory
Although information relating to the validity of the short form of Coopersmith's Self-esteem Inventory has recently been made available, little has been published regarding the reliability or internal consistency of this new measure. For 103 college students test-retest reliability and KR-20 coefficients are reported. The results present strong support for both the stability and internal consistency of scores on the inventory
Some Evidence Relating to Convergent Validity of Form B of Coopersmith's Self-Esteem Inventory
This study examined the convergent validity of the recently developed short form of Coopersmith's Self-esteem Inventory. The inventory and the Adjective Check List were administered to 172 male and 85 female university students. Correlations of scores on the inventory and the Adjective Check List scales for Self-confidence, Exhibition, and Change displayed a mixed pattern. All three ACL scales were significantly related to the inventory for males…
