  • Saflulim

    Nigel Goring-Morris, Paul Goldberg et al.•ARTICLE•Palestine Exploration Quarterly•1999•Cited by: 14•References: 1

The limited excavations at Saflulim demonstrate that, together with Rosh Horesha, it functioned as some form of Negev Late Natufian residential basecamp or, more plausibly, aggregation site, with substantial and durable architectural features present. Together they represent a single site complex forming, by far, the largest Natufian (and indeed Epipalaeolithic) site documented in the Negev to date. Without doubt this is in large measure accounte…

  • Epipalaeolithic occupations in Nahal Neqarot Rockshelter, Negev, Israel

    Open Access•Nigel Goring-Morris, Uri Baruch et al.•ARTICLE•Geoarchaeology•1998•References: 2

Recent excavations at Nahal Neqarot Rockshelter in the Central Negev, Israel, revealed 60 cm of in situ sediments. The associated lithic industry is mostly attributable to the Middle Epipalaeolithic Ramonian industry, though there is also evidence for sporadic earlier and later Epipalaeolithic use of the site. This is confirmed by three accelerator 14C dates, which contribute to a better understanding of the chronological framework for the Epipal…

  • The Late Holocene Vegetational History of Lake Kinneret (Sea of Galilee), Israel

    Uri Baruch•ARTICLE•Paléorient•1986•Cited by: 46

A palynological study of a 5 m long core from Lake Kinneret, Israel, shows evidence of vegetational changes during the last 5300 years, interpreted to be mainly the result of human activities. The apparently still intact forest which surrounded the lake until the end of the 3rd millennium B.C. was heavily decimated in the course of the 2nd and 1st millennium B.C., following which large scale olive cultivation was practised in the area. After ca. …

  • Upper Palaeolithic Assemblages from Wadi Sudr, Western Sinai

Uri Baruch, Ofer Bar‐yosef et al.•ARTICLE•Paléorient•1986•Cited by: 6
