Exploring the Prospective Effects of Uncompassionate/Compassionate Self‐Responding on Adolescent Smartphone Addiction
Background The rapid rise in smartphone use among adolescents has raised concerns about smartphone addiction (SA) and its functional impairments. Although self‐compassion has been found to protect against psychopathology, the longitudinal role of its two dimensions in SA remains underexplored. Prior studies often treated self‐compassion as a unidimensional construct, neglecting the distinct prospective effects of compassionate and uncompassionate…

In Study 3, a total of 850 blood donors were invited to participate in an online-survey measuring SRS-RBD at baseline, and their RBD behavior was captured 6 mo…
Illness perceptions of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and intention of performing clinical diagnostic examination for OSA in Chinese older adults
High proportions of older people did not indicate conditional/unconditional BICDE-OSA, possibly resulting in low detection and treatment rates. As OSA was prevalent in the study population and the unconditional group showed a much higher prevalence of BICDE-OSA than the conditional group, the prevalence of BICID-OSA might increase if the high-risk people are made aware of their risk. Interventions modifying illness representations may be consider…
Perceived social support and self-stigma as factors of Covid-19 booster vaccination behavior and intention via cognitive coping and emotion regulation among people infected with Covid-19 in Hong Kong
Perceived social support was associated with BI-BV, and was mediated via self-stigma, active coping, and serially self-stigma then active coping but not emotion maladaptation. The data supported the stress cognitive coping model in explaining the association between perceived social support and BI-BV. Interventions promoting BI-BV may consider modifying the observed significant factors. Future longitudinal studies are warranted to confirm the fin…
Multi-dimensional factors of behavioral intention of Covid-19 booster vaccination among people having contracted Covid-19—a 7-city study conducted during the last national major outbreak in China
The BI-BCV prevalence was lower than ideal and warrants health promotion. We found that some cognitions (IR constructs of illness coherence, treatment control, and perceived consequences of COVID-19 and perceived inevitability of infection), behavior (social distancing), psychosocial factors (depression and social support), but not emotional states related to COVID-19, were potential determinants of BI-BCV. Future longitudinal studies are warrant…

This novel topic was investigated in this study to facilitate policy-making and heal…
