Notes on a Marble Head of a Youth in The Brooklyn Museum
In 1963, the Department of Ancient Art of The Brooklyn Museum acquired a small marble head said to come from Alexandria2 (Figs. 1-6). It represents a youth with large eyes up-tilted at the outer corners, a short, full mouth with lips parted and a close-fitting cap of thick locks terminating in tight curls.
