    Towards the end of the year 1920 the Kanye Church had completed its preparations to send me to visit the Churches at Lehututu. That place lies in the Kalahari Desert about 300 miles West of Kanye and just beyond what is known as “The Thirst Belt”. It was arranged that one of the Kanye Elders named Peco, who had been there on several occasions, should accompany me, also the Rev. T[sibalala] S. Maalane, Native Minister of Moshupa.
