Portrait Photography as a Visual Repository of Vernacular Memory
In recent years, there has been a notable surge in archaeological research spanning the spectrum from historical archaeology to contemporary archaeology, with a particular focus on the multifaceted theme of human identity. This theme shares a profound resonance with the role of portrait photography as a medium for memory preservation, intricately weaving together the threads of identity, memory, and culture in our comprehension of both historical…
Communication and human rights within speech pathology
[Extract] On 1 January 2020, the Human Rights Act 2019 (Qld) (the Act) will commence. It will bind all persons, including the State and to a lesser extent the Commonwealth. It took us 70 years after the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights to legislate in Queensland. We join the ACT and Victoria as the third Australian jurisdiction to protect human rights. Results of excavation at Chest of Dee, along the headwaters of the River Dee, are set …

Within labour market analysis there is a need to situate empirical analysis within a conceptual framework that considers both the assets of individuals within the labo…

Contingency learning in chronic schizophrenia and its relevance to social motivation deficit
The present study investigates the ability of chronic schizophrenic patients to learn to obtain social rewards when the incentive value of the contingent social event is known. From a group of 40 chronic patients tested for responsivity to social rewards, socially responsive and socially unresponsive patients were selected and compared on a learning task. Patients who were highly motivated to obtain social reinforcement did not emit the reinforce…
