  • Characteristics of patients diagnosed with pancreatic cancer who access palliative care

    Open Access•Nadia Khan, N N Khan et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2023

Timely referrals to community-based specialist PC, access in regional/remote areas, as well as development of culturally diverse support systems require further investigation

Open Access•Benjamin Shemesh, Jacinta Opie et al.•ARTICLE•Health Expectations•2022

INTRODUCTION: The supportive care needs of men with prostate cancer (PCa) have been well documented, but little is known about how an online portal may address these. This study sought to determine priority issues facing men with PCa, barriers and enablers to accessing care and whether health professionals (HPs) and men would support the inclusion of a patient-reported outcome (PRO) comparator tool. • Exploring patient‐reported outcomes following percutaneous coronary intervention

Open Access•Darshini Ayton, Anna Barker et al.•ARTICLE•Health Expectations•2018

BACKGROUND: Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is a common cardiac procedure used to treat obstructive coronary artery disease. Patient-centred care is a priority in cardiovascular health having been shown to increase patient satisfaction, engagement with rehabilitation activities and reduce anxiety. Evidence indicates that patient-centred care is best achieved by routine collection of patient-reported outcomes (PROs). However, existing pat…

  • Women's Liberation

    Sara M Evans, Sara Evans•ARTICLE•Feminist Studies•2015

Women's Liberation was a radical, multiracial feminist movement that grew directly out of the New Left, civil rights, antiwar, and related freedom movements of the 1960s. Its insight that “the personal is political,” its intentionally decentralized structure, and its consciousness raising method allowed it to grow so fast and with such intensity that it swept up liberal feminist organizations in a wildfire of change. Though women's liberation was…

  • Sons, Daughters, and Patriarchy

Sara M Evans, Sara Evans•ARTICLE•The American Historical Review•2009

FEW STUDIES HAVE MADE GENDER CENTRAL to their analysis of the international 1968, although most acknowledge the rebirth of feminism as one of its most profound and lasting legacies. 1 In Western Europe, Japan, and parts of Latin America, histories of contemporary feminism invariably place its origins in 1968, even if the movements themselves usually emerged a year or two later. In the United States, a new feminist movement was already under way, d…

  • Consumer perceptions of safety in hospitals

    Open Access•Sara M Evans, Sue M Evans et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2006

The experience of adverse events negatively impacted on public confidence in hospitals. The consumer-reported adverse event rate in hospitals (7.0%) is similar to that identified using medical record review. Based on estimates from other studies, self-reported claims of adverse events in hospital by consumers appear credible, and should be considered when developing appropriate treatment regimes

For thousands of young women in the 1950s and 1960s, involvement with the student Christian movement (SCM) changed their worldviews. Religious organizations fostered womeni?1/2s leader…
