  • Positive feedback or indifference? Investigating the impact of gamification strategy on patient gift-giving behaviour in E-consultations

Open Access•Xuejie Yang, Dongxiao Gu et al.•ARTICLE•Humanities and Social Sciences…•2026

In the context of gamification strategy, online health communities (OHCs) have introduced patient feedback mechanisms, enabling patients to contribute to doctors’ success in gamified systems by offering gifts. However, the impact of doctors’ performance in online services on patients’ gift-giving behaviour and the underlying mechanisms driving this impact are relatively under-explored. Based on the expectancy violations theory, this study constru…

  • A preliminary study of using greener materials including deep eutectic solvents (DESs) for the cleaning of silver tarnish

Open Access•Q Wu, Jack Harrison et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Cultural Heritage•2025

Employment of deep eutectic solvents as greener materials for silver cleaning. • Obstinate silver tarnish successfully transformed into more soluble products. • Controllable cleaning process and suitable for objects with curved surfaces. We present a preliminary study of the cleaning of artificially tarnished silver mock-ups with several greener materials, including sodium glycinate, ethylenediamine-N,N’-disuccinic acid (EDDS), saponin, and deep …

  • Medieval nanotechnology

Open Access•Q Wu, Benjamin Watts et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Cultural Heritage•2021•Cited by: 1•References: 11

A special gilding material called Zwischgold has been frequently observed in medieval gilded artefacts. As a bilayer metal leaf made from gold and silver, it exhibits similar but slightly paler golden colour tone compared to pure gold. Zwischgold surface can be darkened quickly due to the corrosion of its silver base. Despite its frequent mentions in medieval guild statutes, the production of Zwischgold and its important technological parameters …
