Temporal and Spatial Dynamics of Preschool Education Resource Allocation in China From 2011 to 2019
Balancing the allocation of preschool education resources is a crucial objective within China’s preschool education reform. Our analysis focused on investigating the disparities between regions and urban-rural areas in China from 2011 to 2019, employing the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS), spatial analysis, and Markov chains. The results demonstrate a gradual reduction in the gaps between regions, and a rap…

This article assesses the limitations and potentials of the National High School Exam (enem) as an indicator of school effectiveness in Brazil, and considers the effects of introducing contextual variables. A multilevel regression analysis was performed on three levels (individual, school and state) using microdata on 17,359 schools from 2009 and 2010. Contextual factors made it possible to explain 79% of the difference between schools. The raw a…

What happens after compulsory education? Problems of continuity and possible policies in the case of Spain
The lack of opportunities to enter post-compulsory education in Spain and other countries in southern Europe is a serious problem from the point of view of the requirements of the productive system as well as the social inequality that it creates. This article analyses the effect of a range of variables on that lack of opportunity and various public policy measures are proposed that are directed towards reinforcing the continuity of young people …

Second, the analysis isolates the redistributive effects caused by age differences from those caused by differences between social groups. Within the area of the latter, the type of redistribution that occurs is examined as well as the point to which the middle classes a…
