U tekstu je ocrtan politički i kulturni krajolik Hrvatske 1980-ih, zatim je prikazana znanstvena i kulturna infrastruktura Slavonije, Baranje i Srijema, a potom intelektualno okruženje Vitomira Belaja toga razdoblja.
