    Open Access•A Halpern-Manners, Jane D Mcleod et al.•ARTICLE•SSM - Population Health•2022

This study examines the implications of the coronavirus pandemic for college students' health and education, with special attention to variation by disability status. We evaluate this hypothesis by modeling changes…

  • Willing but unable: Physicians' referral knowledge as barriers to abortion care

    Open Access•Elizabeth M Anderson, K Cowan et al.•ARTICLE•SSM - Population Health•2021

Abortion care is a crucial part of reproductive healthcare. Nevertheless, its availability is constrained by numerous forces, including care referrals within the larger healthcare system. Using a unique study of physician faculty across multiple specialties, we examine the factors associated with doctors' ability to refer patients for abortion care among those who were willing to consult in the care of a patient seeking an abortion (N = 674). Eve…

Twenty 7–10 year old children with spina bifida cystica and hydrocephalus and 20 normals matched for age, sex and IQ were compared on a 12‐trial target task, first used by Connolly, Brown & Bassett (1968). Analysis of the results, in which particular attention was paid to statistical method and to ways of analysing individual differences, showed a significant impairment in dotting speed in the spina bifida group, although both groups improved wit…
