Unveiling the green transition and gender disparities in the energy industry
This study examines the association between the Green Transition and gender disparities in the European energy sector using Value-Based Data Envelopment Analysis (VBDEA) and cluster analysis. Using a static, cross-sectional dataset from 2019, countries were categorized by their Green Transition Index (GTI) and assessed across five gender gap dimensions: employment, working hours, wages, inventor positions, and senior management roles in the energ…
Analyzing the Effects of Economic Determinants on Urban and Rural Energy Poverty
This study aimed to examine energy poverty's determinants in Africa across 36 countries spanning 2000 to 2020. Using fractional regression models, it analyzed how factors such as economic growth, unemployment rates, foreign direct investment, and demographic profiles influence urban and rural access to electricity. The findings highlight the positive impact of economic growth and a larger elderly population on electricity access. Conversely, high…
Determinants of irregularities in municipal public management
The municipal external control exercised by the Courts of Accounts reveals the irregularities found in the accounts of municipal governments through the disclosure of audit reports. They have been empirically analyzed from the point of view of their classification in terms of severity, but few studies aim to identify the factors that influence such failures. Having verified this gap, the main objective of this study is to identify factors that ma…
A New Composite Indicator for Assessing Energy Poverty Using Normalized Entropy
Analysis of the New Kuznets Relationship
Decreased greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) are urgently needed in view of global health threat represented by climate change. The goal of this paper is to test the validity of the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis, considering less common measures of environmental burden. For that, four different estimations are done, one considering total GHG emissions, and three more taking into account, individually, the three main GHG gases-carbon di…
A Two-Stage DEA Model to Evaluate the Technical Eco-Efficiency Indicator in the EU Countries
This paper evaluates the evolution of eco-efficiency for the 27 European Union (EU) countries over the period 2008-2018, provided the traditional high concerns of the EU concerning the economic growth-environmental performance relationship. The effects of brand experiences on quality, satisfaction and loyalty
This article seeks to add to the body of knowledge on the role played by brand experience and its relationship with satisfaction, trust and service quality in the development of loyalty. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) is used to analyze 690 telecommunications multiple-play users in the Portuguese telecommunications market.
