Holdership in practice
Purpose This paper introduces the concept of holdership as a psychoanalytically informed explanatory framework that reconceptualises leadership not as an individual role, behavior, or style, but as a distributed organisational holding function. Drawing on D. W. Winnicott's notion of the holding environment, the study explicates how organizations design and sustain relational, structural, and emotional conditions that regulate anxiety, support dev…
Information Dynamics and Learning in Complex Adaptive Systems
This article develops a framework for understanding learning and adaptation in complex adaptive systems. Drawing from neuroscience, systems theory, information theory and quantum field theory, it examines how information processing, plasticity and systemic coherence emerge from distributed, nonlinear and feedback‐driven interactions. It argues that neural and organizational systems share core features of adaptive complexity, suggesting a common a…

The Dynamic‐Relational Critical Biography in O Cortiço
This article employs a dynamic‐relational critical biography framework to analyze O Cortiço by Aluísio Azevedo, a foundational text in Brazilian naturalist literature. By integrating psychoanalysis, Foucault's power dynamics, and Bourdieu's concept of habitus , this study examines how socioeconomic structures shape characters' psychological development, desires, and conflicts. Azevedo's depiction of the intersections of race, class, and gender wi…

Through a comparative analysis, the study exam…
Using the relational approach to explore the representation of women through Brazilian popular music
We explore representations of women in music by covering a broader symbolic and cultural spectrum. We demonstrate that musical texts engage with representations of gender and sexuality in concrete ways and that these representations can have an impact on attitudes and value systems in real life. We also investigate the relational role of composers, performers, and the media in the transition from the first to the second wave of the Brazilian femi…

In both of them, the Lifestyle anchor was the most found, reflecting the need of a balance between family life and work. It …
Psychoanalysis and contemporary subject–work–organizations relations
What are the implications of the new management models, which are typical of contemporary organizations, on the subjects who depend on their work for a living? Which are the new symptoms and pathologies that define contemporary organizations? What could psychoanalytical studies contribute towards a greater understanding of the contemporary modes of subject–work–organizations relations? As answers, we should stress the relevance of deeper conversa…
Psychoanalysis and culture
Although Freud's theory was born from an observation of individual phenomena and psychological suffering, Freud did not fail to relate and apply it to culture, to the social, and even to the arts and religion. In many of his texts, he dealt with social issues from the psychoanalytic viewpoint. Reviewing these texts and Freud's theories, this paper intends to show evidence of the applicability of the psychoanalytic perspective in current society a…
