Open Access•Gabriel Pereira Maciel, Bruno Gonçalves Galdino Da Costa et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the lives of adolescents worldwide, increasing their risk of mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. Open Access•Jadson Márcio da Silva, Géssika Castilho Dos Santos et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

After the 12-week intervention period, it can be concluded that 12 weeks of school-based physical activity intervention significantly reduced symptoms of anxiety and depression in adolescents with moderate/severe symptoms. • Assessing the damage: Analyzing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on accelerometer-assessed 24-hour movement behaviours in Brazilian adolescents

Open Access•Marcus Vinicius Veber Lopes, Ian Janssen et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

Differences in the 24-h movement behaviour composition comparing the cross-sectional samples, although statistically significant, were considered trivial and unlikely to have a substantial practical impact. However, considerable differences were observed in the prospective analysis. The results suggest that most of the observed changes over time were expected as a natural consequence of aging during high school, with only a small portion attribut…

However, the prevalence of bullying victimization and perpetration remained relatively stable and high in the repeated cross-sectional sample. These findings highlight the need for effective policies and interventio…
