  • Micronutrient Powders Combined With Malaria Chemoprevention to Improve Anaemia and Cognitive Function in Early Childhood in Mali

Open Access•Niélé Hawa Diarra, Yahia Dicko et al.•ARTICLE•Maternal and Child Nutrition•2025

A cluster-randomised controlled trial was conducted in 60 communities in southern Mali to evaluate the impact of micronutrient powders (MNP) combined with seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC) on anaemia (primary endpoint), Plasmodium infection, stunting and cognitive function in children < 5 years. The 60 communities were randomly allocated to the intervention or control arm, and cross-sectional biomedical and cognitive surveys were conducted a…

  • The impact of minimum income on homelessness

  • Operational and structural factors influencing enrolment in community-based health insurance schemes

Open Access•Thomas Rouyard, Yukichi Mano et al.•ARTICLE•Health Policy and Planning•2022

Community-based health insurance (CBHI) has been implemented in many low- and middle-income countries to increase financial risk protection in populations without access to formal health insurance. While the design of such social programmes is fundamental to ensuring equitable access to care, little is known about the operational and structural factors influencing enrolment in CBHI schemes. In this study, we took advantage of newly established da…

  • Influenza mortality in French regions after the Hong Kong flu pandemic

    Open Access•Florian Bonnet, Josselin Thuilliez et al.•ARTICLE•Demographic Research•2022•Cited by: 1•References: 51

Influenza mortality has dramatically decreased in France since the 1950s. Annual death rates peaked during two pandemics: the Asian flu (1956)(1957) and the Hong Kong flu (1969)(1970)

  • Introduction

  • Disease and Human Capital Accumulation

    Open Access•Maria Kuecken, Josselin Thuilliez et al.•ARTICLE•The Economic Journal•2021•Cited by: 6•References: 62

We estimate the effects of a large-scale antimalaria campaign on a rich set of human capital outcomes in 27 sub-Saharan African countries. Using pre-campaign malaria risk as treatment probability, we exploit quasi-experimental variation in period and cohort exposure to antimalaria campaigns. A conservative interpretation of our results shows a globally positive impact of antimalaria campaigns: they reduced the probability of infant mortality (1 p…

  • Mortality and Macroeconomic Conditions

    Open Access•Max Brüning, Josselin Thuilliez•ARTICLE•Demography•2019•Cited by: 1•References: 37

This study uses aggregate panel data on French départements to investigate the relationship between macroeconomic conditions and mortality from 1982 to 2014. We find no consistent relationship between macroeconomic conditions and all-cause mortality in France. The results are robust across different specifications, over time, and across different geographic levels. However, we find that heterogeneity across age groups and mortality causes matters…

  • Cost analysis of a school-based comprehensive malaria program in primary schools in Sikasso region, Mali

Open Access•Roberta Maccario, Saba Rouhani et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2017

A comprehensive school-based control strategy may be a feasible and affordable way to address the burden of malaria among schoolchildren in the Sahel

  • Possession of bed nets in Haut-Katanga (DRC)

    Open Access•Juliette Seban, Josselin Thuilliez et al.•ARTICLE•Health & Place•2013•References: 3
