This study is a systematic empirical analysis of the structure and boundaries of leisure research as reflected by 2,628 citations used in six volumes of Journal of Leisure Research and Leisure Sciences. Synagraphic Mapping as a Tool in Locating and Evaluating the Spatial Distribution of Municipal Recreation Facilities
The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate a tool for the rapid analysis of the geographical distributions of recreation areas in municipalities. Activity Specialization Among Ohio's Recreation Boaters
Participation in water oriented recreation is often characterized by strong activity preferences. More than two-thirds of a sample of recreational boaters in Ohio during 1966 specialized in either sailing, water skiing, pleasure cruising, or fishing (a fifth group was defined as non-specialized). Recreational boating has increased in popularity during the last decade with the largest increase in the North Central States. Watercraft can be used for a variety of recreational activities including pleasure cruising, fishing, water skiing, sailing and canoeing.
