Hispanics in the Workplace
Hispanics in the Workplace
Hispanics are the fastest growing minority in the United States and are filling an increasingly significant portion of the work force. However, despite theses facts, little or no research has been conducted to date to address this issue. Until now. The first in its field, Hispanics in the Workplace presents a comprehensive exploration of Hispanic employment factors, problems at work, and work in the government and private sectors. The Role of Attribution Theory in Personnel Employment Selection
The role of attribution theory in recent research on personnel employment selection is reviewed. Wais Scores for Black and White Air Force Basic Trainees
The WAIS was administered to 100 black and 100 white male Air Force basic trainees. t tests showed that the white group scored significantly higher on Verbal IQ, Performance IQ, and Full Scale IQ and on all subtests except Digit Span and Digit Symbol. Findings were discussed in terms of cultural opportunity and heritability
Magnitude of Immediate Reward in Partially Delayed Reward
30 rats were trained in a runway for 16 days at 5 trials a day. During acquisition (10 days) Ss were trained on an irregular 50% partially delayed reward schedule. The duration of delay was 30 sec. and 2 pellets of reward were given on all delayed trials. The magnitude of immediate reward was varied over three levels (2, 10, 24 pellets) as a between-groups factor. Although the larger rewards developed somewhat faster acquisition speeds than the s…
Resistance to Extinction as a Function of the Number of Small and Large Rewarded Runway Trials
4 groups of 10 rats were trained in a runway for 0, 5, 10, or 15 small rewarded (2 pellets) trials prior to being shifted to large reward (24 pellets) for the remainder of 45 trials. Acquisition performance was slower for small than for large reward during the early trials but the groups were not different by the end of acquisition. Resistance to extinction was an increasing linear function of the number of small rewarded trials
