  • The normalization mechanism of emotional modulation on rhythmic temporal attention

Jinfang Cai, Sibo Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2026

  • The relationships between care burden and sleep quality in migrant care workers: An evaluation of the mediating factors

    Open Access•I-Ming Chen, Jia‐Chi Shan et al.•ARTICLE•Critical Public Health•2025

Care burden can compromise the sleep quality of migrant care workers (MCW); however, factors that influence this adverse effect remain unknown. This study aims to examine the psychological and behavioral factors that mediate the relationship between care burden and poor sleep quality in MCW in Taiwan. MCW in Taiwan were recruited and interviewed using online computer-assisted data collection system. Care burden was measured based on the total num…

  • The Covid-19 pandemic and internet searches for divorce with stay-at-home behavior as a mediator: A multinational longitudinal study

    Open Access•Lung-Hua Cheng, Y H Lin et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Social and Personal…•2025•Cited by: 2•References: 35

This study integrates an analysis of Google Trends data on divorce search volumes, Google Location History to assess stay-at-home behavior, and COVID-19 death rates from March 2020 to October 2022 across 45 countries. Using causal mediation analysis, we examined the mediating role of stay-at-home behavior on the impact of pandemic severity on divorce-related searches. Findings indicate a significant relationship between COVID-19 death rates and r…

  • An interactive programming learning environment supporting paper computing and immediate evaluation for making thinking visible and traceable

    YungYu Zhuang, Y H Lin et al.•ARTICLE•Interactive Learning Environments•2024

Computer programming is essential nowadays but still challenging to learn due to its invisible thinking. Current programming environments are mostly designed for operating on computers directly to learn concrete programming, but this approach lacks the support for clarifying learners’ thinking processes. On the other hand, using paper and pens shows usability in developing creative thinking, but it cannot help verify learners’ thinking results du…

  • Utilizing Internet Search Volume to Monitor Stages of Change in Vaccine Hesitancy During the Covid-19 Outbreaks

Open Access•Yu-Tung Lan, Shiow-Ing Wu et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2022

Real-time vaccine hesitancy surveillance is needed to better understand changes in vaccination behaviors. We aim to understand the association between coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreaks and population vaccine hesitancy and to monitor the dynamic changes in vaccination behaviors. We used the autoregressive integrated moving average model to examine the association between daily internet search volume for vaccines and two waves of COVID-…

  • Two-dimensional taxonomy of internet addiction and assessment of smartphone addiction with diagnostic criteria and mobile apps

Open Access•Yi-Lun Wu, H Lin et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Behavioral Addictions•2021

A recent review by Montag et al. raised a taxonomical argument about internet addiction. We propose a two-dimensional taxonomy of internet addiction by both the device and the content as the solution. For the assessment of smartphone addiction, measurements should be based on functional impairment and validated by diagnostic criteria rather than solely on self-reported questionnaires. We detail the potential of mobile applications (apps) to impro…

  • Processing Cycle Efficiency to Monitor the Performance of an Intelligent Tube Preparation System for Phlebotomy Services

    Open Access•Ming‐Feng Wu, Jen-Ying Li et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

Establishing an ITPS for phlebotomy can significantly increase PCE and shorten the WT. Furthermore, the PCE ≥ 25% could be a good assessment reference for the management of appropriate human resources for phlebotomy services, although it is a complex parameter

  • Cardiac Autonomic Modulation during on-Call Duty under Working Hours Restriction

    Open Access•Jien‐Wen Chien, Jien-Wen Chien et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2020

Background: Medical residency is a time of high stress and long working hours, which increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. This study aimed to investigate the autonomic modulation of resident physicians throughout the on-call duty cycle. Methods: Spectral analysis of heart rate variability (HRV) was used to compute cardiac parasympathetic modulation (high-frequency power, HF) and cardiac sympathetic modulation (normalized low-frequency pow…

  • Investigation of the Role of Anxiety and Depression on the Formation of Phantom Vibration and Ringing Syndrome Caused by Working Stress during Medical Internship

    Open Access•Y H Lin, Kuan-I Lin et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2020

Phantom vibration syndrome (PVS) and phantom ringing syndrome (PRS) are prevalent hallucinations during medical internship. Depression and anxiety are probably understudied risk factors of PVS and PRS. The aim was to evaluate the role of anxiety and depression on the relationship between working stress during medical internship and PVS and PRS. A prospective longitudinal study, consisted of 74 medical interns, was carried out. The severity of pha…

  • Religiosity Dimensions and Disability-Free Life Expectancy in Taiwan
