  • Understanding historical mobility: Literati’s travels in the Ming Dynasty

Fengyi Ji, Ye Xiao et al.•ARTICLE•Current Issues in Tourism•2026

  • A Pilot Study for Measuring Complex Problem-Solving in Jordan: Feasibility, Construct Validity, and Behavior Pattern Analyses

    Open Access•Saleh Ahmad Alrababah, H Wu et al.•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2024

In the 21st century, complex problem-solving (CPS) serves as a key indicator of educational achievement. However, the elements of successful CPS have not yet been fully explored. This study investigates the role of strategic exploration and different problem-solving and test-taking behaviors in CPS success, using logfile data to visualize and quantify students’ problem-solving behavior on 10 CPS problems with different characteristics and levels …

  • Different Patterns of Religious Settlements Based on the Historic Landscape Approach: Cases of Buddhist Grottoes in Hexi Corridor

    Open Access•Yueying Chen, H Wu et al.•ARTICLE•Religions•2024•References: 24

Religious settlements can reflect regional culture and social development, preserve the continuity of spatial structures over time, sustain social networks, and perpetuate traditions. Buddhist settlements, as a particular type of religious settlement, reflect the social development and daily lives of monks and common people. This study used literature research, field investigations, and GISs to construct a framework of the landscape of religious …

  • Inductive and combinatorial reasoning in international educational context: Assessment, measurement invariance, and latent mean differences

Open Access•H Wu, Andi Rahmat Saleh et al.•ARTICLE•Asia Pacific Education Review•2022

Indonesian 15-year-old students’ educational achievement has proved to be significantly lower than the international average based on one of the most prominent international large-scale assessments, OECD PISA. This prompted our interest in Indonesian students’ cognitive development during secondary schooling in comparison with that of students who are more successful on the PISA scale. This study aims to describe the development of Indonesian stu…

  • The genome sequence of a SNP type 3K strain of Mycobacterium leprae isolated from a seventh-century Hungarian case of lepromatous leprosy

    Open Access•Tom A Mendum, G Michael Taylor et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2018•References: 26

We report on a Mycobacterium leprae genome isolated from the remains of an individual with lepromatous leprosy that were excavated from a seventh-century Hungarian cemetery. We determined that the genome was from a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) type 3K0 M. leprae strain, a lineage that diverged early from other M. leprae lineages. This is one of the earliest 3K0 M. leprae genomes to be sequenced to date. A number of novel SNPs as well as S…
