Freezing Fertility: Oocyte Cryopreservation and the Gender Politics of Aging
Solidarity in Falling Apart: Toward a Crip, Collectivist, and Justice-Seeking Theory of Feminine Fracture

I extend her discussion of the convergence between feminist/antimedicalization critiques of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) and clinical/experimental psychiatric research with regard to gender essentialism; I engage with her claim that feminist critiques of psychiatry have been stymied by their jettisoning of Freudia…
Interest, Arousal, and Shifting Diagnoses of Female Sexual Dysfunction, or: How Women Learn About Desire
The newly released Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5; American Psychiatric Association, Citation2013) brings together "interest" and "arousal" and removes "desire" from the language of the most commonly diagnosed female sexual dysfunction. I examine the shift from Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder in Women (HSDD) to the new diagnosis, Female Sexual Interest/Arousal Disorder (SI/AD). Whereas "complex," "flexible," "respo…

Researchers have found that body image can influence a woman's self-confidence, her assertiveness, and her attitudes regarding eating and exercise habits. Much research has examined White women's body image perceptions, but less research has examined this iss…
