Violência sexual em Portugal
Este artigo analisa o discurso meditico da violncia sexual em Portugal, com base em 299 notcias de 2021.Os resultados revelam que 95% dos agressores so homens e 87% das vtimas, mulheres.Predominam os casos de abuso sexual (50,5%) e violao (42,2%).Em 84,6% dos casos, vtima e agressor conheciam-se (42% familiares, 42,6% conhecidos), sendo a habitao o principal local de ocorrncia (62,7%).O estudo destaca a perpetuao de mitos da violao e a culpabiliz…
Where Repronormativity is Questioned
Some trans men can get pregnant and through that decision they question repronormative ideals. This study aims to explore the experience of these men and to understand how Berlin, where they live, may influence their experience of pregnancy. The Wounds That Do Not Heal
This paper uses UK administrative data to study the long‐term effects of unemployment on earnings. It is the first paper to pinpoint accurately the relative importance of the timing of employment shocks within workers’ lives. We find a strong effect of events in the first few years after entry into the labour market: each month of unemployment between ages 18 and 20 causes a permanent income loss of 1.2% per year. How well do immigrants entering the UK assimilate into recipient labour markets? Using the underexploited, sizeable and long Lifetime Labour Market Database between 1981 and 2006, we investigate the evolution of the immigrant–native earnings gap—a measure of immigrants’ assimilation—across the entire earnings distribution, across cohorts and across nationalities. Minimum wage effects across the private and public sectors in Brazil
Most of the available evidence on the effect of minimum wages concerns the private sector of developed countries. In this paper, we examine minimum wage effects in both private and public sectors for a key developing country. We use monthly data from a Brazilian household survey from 1982 to 2000. We find a strong compression effect in the wage distribution for both the private and public sectors. However, we find no evidence of adverse employmen…
Immunogold cell staining using monoclonal antibodies
The immunogold staining technique was presented for light microscopic detection of cell surface antigens with monoclonal antibodies. The lymphoid cells were adhered to glass slides precoated with the adhesive poly-(dimethyl-diallyl-)ammonium chloride.
