To djelovanje razumijev…

    Open Access•Ana-Marija Vukušić•ARTICLE•Narodna umjetnost•2025

  • Anything Can be Endured, Except Loneliness, Loneliness is Killing Me: A Contribution to the Ethnography of Aging in Rural Areas

    Open Access•Ana-Marija Vukušić•ARTICLE•Etnološka istraživanja•2025

The author deals with the problems of isolation and loneliness in rural, sparsely populated parts of Croatia based on the findings of research conducted in the Dalmatian Hinterland. The first part of the article is dedicated to selected theoretical insights on social isolation and loneliness, and then, by presenting the comments of people she met in the field on their own everyday life, the author deals with the diversity or subjective characteri…

  • Mi smo vama nešto ko zamorčići, jel?' O etičkim i metodološkim dilemama istraživanja beskućništva

    Open Access•Ana-Marija Vukušić, Melanija Belaj•ARTICLE•Studia Ethnologica Croatica•2024

Potom predstavljamo osobitosti izgradnje našega istraživačkoga pristupa, odnosno 'metodološke mreže' u kojoj smo, posredstvom isprobavanja klasičnih i uvriježenih etnografskih m…

  • “To go crazy, to snap and that's it…” coronavirus pandemic and nursing homes in Croatia

    Open Access•Ana-Marija Vukušić•ARTICLE•Glasnik Etnografskog instituta•2021

Starting from the assumption that the COVID-19 pandemic has had the strongest impact on social groups that were already vulnerable and marginalized, and underlined existing social inequalities, I focus on some of the consequences of pandemic control measures on the daily lives of elderly people. In the first part of the paper, I deal with the ?positioning? of elderly people in the context of COVID-19 protection measures - which, following the rec…
