This article examines the effects of foregone gate revenues and reduced visitor days as a result of the 1994 major league baseball strike on Pennsylvania jobs, business activity, and income. The authors use a macroeconomic model of the Pennsylvania economy to estimate that the strike probably had negligible net impacts on the Pennsylvania economy.
