Early Upper Paleolithic chronology in the Levant
Dhra', Excavation Project, 2002 Interim Report
This is an interim report on the second season of fieldwork and post-excavation analysis on the Pottery Neolithic and Pre-Pottery Neolithic site of Dhra', near the southern end of the Dead Sea in Jordan. Excavations to date have produced rich assemblages of pottery and lithics. In addition sets of features that can be attributed to each phase have been identified. Those from the PPNA are generally better preserved than those of the Pottery Neolit…

Much of the information in micromorphological thin sections exists at the mesoscopic level. The use of flatbed scanners can improve analysis at this level and aid in preservation of the information. This article describes scanning in both plane and cross‐polarized light and discusses the hardware and software required. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc
Micromorphological Analysis of Sediments from Meadowcroft Rockshelter, Pennsylvania
Meadowcroft Rockshelter (36WH297), in Pennsylvannia, is an important site in North American prehistory because of its long continuous sequence of occupation and its controversial pre-Clovis dates. While a geoarchaeological analysis of the site has been conducted over twelve seasons of excavation between 1973 and 1999, questions have remained concerning the potential for groundwater contamination of the lowest levels that could have contributed to…
Summary of the spring 1998 meeting of the working group on archaeological soil micromorphology, February 27–March 1, 1998
