Age-related declines in postural control and physical fitness are strong risk factors for falls in older adults. Balance efficacy has been utilized to identify poor postural control, reduced physical function, and fall risk. D-Cycloserine and Early Ethanol Exposure in Developing Rats
Pregnant rats were exposed to one of the following treatments: 20% aqueous sucrose (w/v; Control), 20% aqueous sucrose with 20 mg D-cycloserine (DCS), 20% aqueous sucrose with 5% ethanol (ETH), or 20% aqueous sucrose with both 20 mg DCS and 5% ethanol (DCS+ ETH). Treatments were delivered in 20 ml of drinking water provided daily, as pilot work had determined that this was the average daily water consumption for female rats. Treatments began on D…

This article examines the changes in the traditional neighbourhood groupings, called pols, in Ahmedabad. It shows that the pols, which once provided the link between individuals and the city, are on the decline. The pols, which were once socio-culturally homogeneous, have changed through a gradual shift in their social composition. The nature of the change is analysed through three case studies
