Open Access•Tania Barton, Thomas Barton•ARTICLE•Espacio Tiempo y Forma Serie III…•2024

    Open Access•Liam Wignall, M Mccormack et al.•ARTICLE•The Journal of Sex Research•2024•Cited by: 4•References: 7

Kink, often referred to as BDSM, is an important aspect of a sizable minority's sexual desires, practices, and personal relationships, yet there are few ways to assess kink engagement in a holistic manner. This study aimed to develop the Kink Orientation Scale (KOS), a novel short tool for measuring different aspects of kink sexuality. Open Access•Rebecca Probert, Rajnaara C Akhtar et al.•ARTICLE•Oxford Journal of Law and Religion•2022

Every place of worship that is registered for weddings is able to appoint its own ‘authorised person’ to replace the civil registrar who would otherwise be required to attend weddings there. Nonetheless, 120 years after this option was first introduced by the Marriage Act 1898, there are still many places of worship with no authorised person. With provisional proposals for an officiant-based system having been put forward by the Law Commission, i…

Open Access•Rebecca Probert, Stephanie Pywell et al.•ARTICLE•The Journal of Social Welfare Law•2022•References: 2

In principle, it is possible for a couple to get married in a register office in England or Wales for £127 (including the cost of giving notice and a certificate). In this article, we draw on empirical research to show how limited this option is in practice. Its availability is constrained by the scarcity of register offices limited slots for weddings, and the addition of other fees not provided for in the regulations. Its accessibility is often …

While AIDS awareness is almost universal in Uganda, cultural values discourage open discussion of sexual behaviour. Thus many questions remain unasked, especially in public. This study managed to analyse some of these queries by examining 1252 letters written spontaneously to a newspaper health advice column: of the letters, more than 325 included specific questions about HIV/AIDS. Being written, the questions include topics too embarrassing or s…
