This article presents a typology of international social work research and analyzes trends over a 10-year period (1995–2004) based on reviews of 707 articles from three major American social work research journals: Social Work Research, Journal of Social Service Research, and Research on Social Work Practice. The Society for Social Work and Research (SSWR) was founded in 1994 to provide a meeting ground and support organization for individual social workers who engage in research. Multiple indicators of success in residential youth care and treatment
Based on a large, ongoing empirical research effort to determine factors associated with the successful community adjustment of troubled adolescents leaving residential treatment, this paper focuses on multiple indicators of success measured at multiple points of time in the treatment process. Implications for research and clinical practice are discussed

Potential uses of time-series designs for formative program evaluation are illustrated, and the relationship between single-case experiments and quasi-experimental time-series designs is discussed. Four variations of time-series design are presented: interrupted time-series with follow-up, replicated time-series, step-wise time-series, and time-series with reversal patterns.
